My mom and dad who left this earth within six months of each other in 2004. They couldn't be separated in life and now they are together for eternity. They were very special people that I miss greatly. They will always be remembered for their love of each other and their love of family. They will live forever in the hearts of those that loved them.
Rudy preferred to be a pig and associate with others of his kind. He tolerated humans. During the years we reached an understanding and were friends "on his terms'. He will be missed so much.
Chewy was one of my favorites. He was blind and depended on me to guide him with my voice or followed his pen mate around. He was one of the original pigs and passed away in his sleep at 20 years of age. I miss him so much and it's hard going into his barn to care for the other pigs.
Priscilla was one of the sweetest pigs ever. Several months ago her abdomen started enlarging in an abnormal way. She was taken to the vet for a sonogram and is was discovered she had ascities, secondary to a heart problem. There was no treatment so she was returned to the sanctuary. In the past couple of weeks Pris's quality of life became an issue and I had to make the decision that no sanctuary operator wants to be faced with. I was with her in her life and I was there when she departed it to go to that special place.
Chrissey was the beloved friend of Lauri that was being raised as a FFA project that went horribly wrong. If the pig is a sow she has the opportunity to go back to the breeder or to a chosen sanctuary. Chrissey wasn't afforded either option. She fell through the cracks and due to miscommunication on the part of the FFA which resulted in Lauri's "best friend" being sent to slaughter.
